Spooky Season: The Best Halloween Events in Leicester

Halloween is the one time of year you can get away with being slightly unhinged. Want to dress as a vampire or inflatable dinosaur? Go for it. Want to sing, dance, and play bingo while wearing said costume? Now we're talking!

If you're looking for Halloween events in Leicester, you've got plenty to choose from. And, obviously, we've got a little something going on too.

What's happening this Halloween in Leicester?

Halloween Leicester

Leicester is always good for a night out, but Halloween has a way of dialling things up a notch. So, what are the highlights that you need to know about?

Go monster hunting around the city

From 22 to 31 October, eight giant monsters will be appearing around Leicester city centre. And they could be anywhere. Rooftops. Windows. Unexpected nooks. Basically, keep your eyes peeled.

The free trail runs through the city centre and is the perfect introduction to Halloween for little ones and a way to get into the pre-drinks spooky spirit for the not-so-littles.

You could be wandering through town minding your own business when a giant orange monster decides to say hello. Perfectly normal October behaviour.

Fancy a Halloween farm day?

Who says Halloween has to be scary? If you’re looking for something to do with the family (before staying out until 2am pretending you're not tired), Cattows Farm is running its Halloween Farm throughout October and early November.

There’s apple bobbing, pumpkins, a maze, oh, and zombies… Don’t forget the zombies…

You might fit right in on November 1st, when you’re shaking off a monster of a hangover.

Get your spooky culture fix

If your idea of Halloween involves something a little more sophisticated, Leicester still has you covered.

There's the Halloween in Concert at De Montfort Hall on Sunday 25 October, as well as the usual horror screenings, performances, and other spooky events taking place around the city. Perfect if scary films and live music are more your thing.

Just don't blame us when every noise in the house sounds like a ghost afterwards.

Then there's Bongo's Bingo Leicester

Now we're getting to the important bit. If you're looking for bingo in Leicester, there's a decent chance you're expecting the usual setup.

Rows of chairs. Quiet concentration. Someone is whispering about number 42. Yeah, not round here…

Bongo's Bingo takes traditional bingo, throws it out of the window and replaces it with huge tunes, rave intervals, dance-offs, ridiculous prizes and a crowd that's considerably more interested in having a brilliant night than behaving themselves.

On Saturday 31 October, Bongo's Bingo is heading to Athena Leicester for Halloween itself.

That's your Saturday night sorted, then.

Why Bongo's works for Halloween

We all know that organising a group Halloween night can be a nightmare. One person wants a club. Someone else wants a bar. Someone has spent £40 on a costume and now refuses to sit down because apparently the cape is “part of the experience”.

Then there's always the friend who says they'll “just come for one”. They won't.

Bongo's Bingo gives everyone something to get involved in. You're playing, singing, dancing, competing and wondering why someone has just won an inflatable prize that absolutely cannot fit in an Uber.

It's chaotic. It's loud. It's ridiculous. It's exactly what Halloween should be.

Your Halloween survival guide

First things first: sort your costume. Don't wait until Halloween afternoon before deciding you're going as “someone who forgot it was Halloween”. Get the group involved instead. Pick a theme and fully commit.

Next, plan your journey home. Future you will be grateful.

And finally, wear sensible shoes. Yes, those new boots look incredible. Your feet do not care.

You're going to dance. A lot.

Make Halloween 2026 one to remember.

There are loads of Halloween events in Leicester this year, so there's no excuse for another night on the sofa watching the same horror film you've seen seven times.

Go monster hunting. Visit a Halloween farm. Catch a spooky show.

Or, if you want bingo, dancing, music, prizes and complete nonsense, come and see what Bongo's Bingo Leicester is all about.
