I first joined Bongo’s Bingo in February 2018, working under Jimmy Sweets. We worked the bar at the Birmingham venue, where we created the first ever Bongo’s Bingo cocktail: Thirsty Thelma. This beautifully named drink was simply vodka, slush puppy, and edible glitter — Heston Blumenthal, eat your heart out.

By the end of that month, I became a Bongo’s Bingo dancer, Thirsty Thelma, and for years had the pleasure of travelling the world spreading chaotic energy. This included Australia, Dubai, Ibiza, the Alps, and of course the cultural hotspot that is Gorleston-on-Sea.

I hosted my first ever show in July 2019, covering for Chris Mac while he quietly disappeared on paternity leave that no one else knew about (thank you, you legend).

I’m approaching eight years with the company now, which would have seemed insane when I first joined, but honestly, I wouldn’t change a single second of it. I’d love to know how many shows I’ve done over the years, but it’s fair to say well over 750.
